The 2019-2021 Edges had really rough shifting 8-speeds from the factory. Lots of surging and bucking in the first 3 gears. There were multiple TSB’s going all the way up to 2022 for PCM reflashes to address these issues. People with ford edges constantly ask if this update is worth it. I am showing that the latest one completely takes 2 out of the equation whether you baby it or gun it. Manual shifting is the only way now. (

Ford altered the shift parameters of the transmission in such a way that the second gear is no longer part of the vehicle's regular operation. The move essentially cuts out the second gear via software. (
